3-LAYER CONSTRUCTION

Containers are constructed from MDI’s unique 3-layer corrugated laminate plastic. The extruded product consists of two strong outer layers of plastic (1) co-extruded to a corrugated plastic center (2) core. The inner layer consists of a waved flute that runs horizontally, adding strength to the finished product.

Lightweight and Durable. MDI’s exclusive 3-layer construction reinforces each finished container to provide greater impact resistance than alternative materials without the added weight of traditional plastic products.

Flexible, pliable material resists breakage. Designed with a unique proprietary resin blend, MDI containers perform in subzero temperatures and the polyethylene base offers more “give” than other plastic substances, further resisting breakage or tearing.

Moisture & Chemical Resistant. MDI’s corrugated plastic is a waterproof inert substance. Containers maintain integrity when exposed to moisture and will not react with coatings or chemical substances. In addition, polyethylene emits a very low static charge, which attracts less dirt, dust and other foreign organic elements than other plastic and paper materials.

Design Flexibility. Container specifications can be altered in several ways: board thickness, number of layers used in plastic construction, addition of drainage or air holes, and the dimensions or “footprint” of the finished container. Products are custom built for your existing material handling systems; thus no additional transition costs or process changes are required

100% Recyclable. Constructed of High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), MDI containers are 100% recyclable and even hold inherent value at the end of life.  Recycling centers purchase used HDPE products to manufacture plastic drainage pipe, picnic tables, fencing, lumber, and floor tile.
