MDI recently announced that it is a member of INDA, Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, joining hundreds of companies in the nonwovens and engineered fabrics industry across the globe. With facilities in Minneapolis, Cohasset, Hibbing and Grand Rapids, MDI is a nonprofit manufacturer of corrugated standard and custom plastic packaging solutions, offering production assembly and environmental services.

“MDI has been providing high-quality products and services for more than half a century,” said Peter McDermott, president and CEO of MDI. “Joining an international organization like INDA is a reflection of our bright future and goals for growth in our industry.”

MDI recently took steps to expand its production assembly work into the medical sector. In the last year, the organization created a white room at its Minneapolis facility and received ISO 13485:2016 certification, allowing the organization to offer custom surgical drapes, packaging, assembly and other contracted manufacturing opportunities in the medical sector. MDI employs a total of 525 people of which 207 are people with documented disabilities.

“Engaging with INDA is a natural next step as we work to build strong, longstanding partnerships in the medical sector,” said Nathan Trout, medical sales account manager at MDI. “We look forward to participating in this industry-driven community of thought leaders and experts.”
