The Annual 5K for Acceptance Color Run/Walk/Skate/Bike is a perfect example of people from the Grand Rapids community coming together in support of Special Olympics – Itasca County. Several MDI employees participated in this run to raise money and awareness for the Special Olympics of Minnesota-Itasca Area. The event was held on June 3 with all participants being “splashed” with color along the route followed by a group color explosion at the finish line.

Special Olympics Minnesota-Itasca County provides opportunities for over 120 community members with intellectual disabilities to participate in year-round training and sporting competitions. Through the Special Olympics athletic programs people with intellectual disabilities can transform themselves, their communities and the world.
